About
You’ve reached the blog of Oyono. Welcome !
My name (Oyono) is from a central african language called Bulu (my grand dad would have said “Not Bulu, Fong, we are Fong!”, but don’t mind him;Fong and Bulu are cousins anyway) and literally means “Morning dew”. I am an Aerospace Engineer. I turned into a Computer Programmer after discovering the Python programming language in 2014 while developing a 6 DoF flight simulator for my end of studies internship. I am passionated about learning new stuff. My main interests generally include philosophy, science (mostly physics, maths and the likes), programming languages and economics. I also love cuban salsa.
I really love learning about stuff. It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it manages to trigger my curiosity. I deeply believe in a society where people are truly free to choose to pursue whatever career path they like at any time in their life. I have succeeded in doing just that so far, of which I am grateful to life. I’ve used my skills and learnt new one in a nice variety of areas: smartphones, satellite imagery, weather, climate. Currently I turned my interest to quantitative finance.
After the release of general public generative artificial intelligence chat bots in 2023, there might be concern that content here is generated by them. It’s never going to be the case, but I might use them to suggest catchy category names/tags to help you better guess the content of my articles.
I might have an employer or manage a small company myself at any point in time, but nothing I say here has anything to do with them. Please take what you read here as representing only my own, independent thinking and opinion, not those of that employer or company of mine that you managed to find out about (yes, some people can be active in the corporate world and still think by themselves sometimes).
